I'm a native North Carolinian now living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I am a practicing dentist who loves his work because of the long term relationships established with patients and because dentistry has afforded me the time and means to pursue my other passions, travel and photography. To paraphrase Bing Crosby who once said, "I am a golfer who just happens to make his living singing," I am photographer who just happens to make his living practicing dentistry.

I have had images published in magazines such as "Blue Ridge Country" and "Our State." I have had images on calendars and have won numerous awards in varying competitions.

I have always been interested in photography, but did not really begin to pursue it seriously until about 14 years ago when I joined the local camera club. I then began trying to capture on film a sense of the places I was visiting. I do primarily nature
photography with an emphasis on the nation's national parks. I love being able to visit special places and bring home images that people see and might say, "Wow, I wish I could have been there and seen that."

Nature photography has made me much more aware of the beauty that is constantly around us. The most rewarding part of nature photography is being in these special places when the light is right and the moment is magical. I hope we realize that these places have been placed in our care and we can find ways to preserve them for future generations. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
